A Word from
Al-Hewar Center...

Keep America's Spirit
of Tolerance Alive...

Al-Hewar Center joins the entire American, Arab, and Islamic community in expressing our condemnation of the terror attacks on America on September 11, 2001, and we wish to express our deep sorrow and condolences to the  victims and their families and friends.
We would like to thank the many people who have sent kind and thoughtful messages of  understanding about these very difficult days for Arabs and Muslims in America who have the double burden of the inexpressible grief of the tragedy, but also the terrible backlash of racism and intolerance.
Although this is a difficult period for all Americans, it is important to remember that there are so many good people in the world.  Nothing can bring back the victims of this terrible tragedy, but we MUST keep alive the spirit of America as a freedom-loving, diverse and tolerant society.  America will rebuild her buildings, but the real challenge will be to protect her spirit of openness and tolerance.
